Now we have this hooked up to our Chevy Equinox today, but this is rated at 8,000 pounds so this is gonna cover a widespread of vehicles up to 8,000 pounds, which really opens it up for flat towed vehicles. And when it comes to flat towing your vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are required. Now we'll start on the vehicle side. Hi there Mini owners. Today in your 2019 Mini Cooper S, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's Alpha tow bar. And this is what our tow bar looks like when it's installed. The Alpha 2 tow bar is going to be a non-binding tow bar, which is an important piece to be able to disconnect your tow bar without any additional tools. We can see here that these levers are located on the arms of our tow bar, and when we get to our destination, if we're not perfectly straight when we park our motor home and our vehicle, and if we're not on perfectly level ground between the two, like if your vehicle here is a little bit curved this way, motor home's a little bit different, that can make removing the pins extremely difficult because once you drive off, they extend and lock it into an extended position. To release it from that locked position, you can press down on the lever. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Blue Alpha 2 tow bar on a 2018 Coachmen Mirada. Now this tow bar is gonna be great for your etrailer, Demco or Blue Ox base plates and you can actually get adaptable arms for the base plate of your road master to work with this as well. Now there's five main components when flat towing a vehicle, and starting on the vehicle side, you're going to have your base plate and that's simply going to attach to the frame or the bumper support of the vehicle to give us dirty connection point for your tow bar to connect. Now on your base plate, a lot of times you're also gonna have your safety chain loop integrated as well. So the next point that we need is our tow bar and that's gonna be the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now you're also gonna have those safety cables like I mentioned before, with your safety chain loops here, and these are gonna criss-cross under here to the RV hitch, and that way, in case of an accidental disconnect, you still have these cables holding onto the vehicle. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at our XHD non-binding tow bar. This is going to slide into your 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receiver on your RV. That will then allow you to hook up to the base plate on your tow vehicle so that you can safely and securely tow your vehicle behind your motor home. Now, this is not going to require a ball mount, so if you do have a ball mount on your trailer already, you'll need to take that out so that you can get this slid into your hitch receiver. This does feature these telescoping arms. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar here on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. So a tow bar is just one of the many things that we need in order to tow our vehicle. In addition to that, we're gonna need a base plate kit, safety cables, however, the Alpha 2 actually comes with its own safety cables, so you don't have to worry about buying those separately. We're also gonna need some sort of lighting system to control the lights on the vehicle, as well as a braking system. RoadMaster Falcon Tow Bar Installation - 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Nighthawk and it's installed on a 2021 Tiffin Open Road Allegro. Now this tow bar is designed to work with Roadmaster base plates and so it has this design for hookup. Now you can actually get different plates for a different base plate, so if you have a Blue Ox or something along those lines, you can still use this tow bar and attach to those. In fact, you can actually get this model with Blue Ox ends if you have a Blue Ox base plate on your vehicle, so you can still attach and you're not limited. When flat towing a vehicle, there's five main components that are required and we're gonna start with the base plate. And the base plate is attached to the vehicle, to the frame and that's gonna have our arms as well as all of our hookup points for the rest of our connections, so that's the main thing you're gonna need on your vehicle. more

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer, today on our 2020 Chevy Suburban, we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain Tow Bar. So before we start talking about the tow bar and how it works and things like that, I figured it'd be useful to refresh yourselves on the main components that we're gonna need to flat tow our Chevy down the road in the first place. So there's gonna be a total of five main components needed to flat tow your Chevy down the road safely. First one's gonna be the base plate, and that's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable attachment point that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. The tow bar is gonna be the second component, and this is gonna be the physical link that actually connects the front of your vehicle to the back of your coach. The third main component will be safety cables, and these are pretty straightforward here. more

etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Installation - 2021 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hey everybody, how's it goin' Today, we're gonna to be going over and showing you how to install the etrailer SD Tow Bar here on a 2021 Jeep Cherokee. A tow bar is gonna be the physical connection between the trailer hitch on the motor home and the base plate kit here on the towed vehicle. So it's gonna be one of the several other components that we need to successfully flat to our vehicle, including a base plate kit. A lot of the tow bars such as this one come with the safety cables, therefore we don't need to purchase that separately. We're also gonna need a supplemental braking system in most states and a wiring harness to transmit the signals. The SD Tow Bar is rated for 6,000 pounds, which is gonna be more than enough for the Cherokee here, you shouldn't ever have to worry about exceeding that. more
